ABOUT ME

HELLO, I'M CAMILLE

I'm a solo game developer and founder of game studio Wayward Astronaut, currently creating sci-fi narrative adventure game These Starless Skies, that was successfully awarded funding from Screen Australia and Screenwest.

I've spent 15 years in immersive software development, using emerging technologies to develop 3D simulations and visualisations, digital twins for remote operations, immersive training, VR/AR, games, and robotics automation. I enjoy working closely with people, and have led multiple software teams and projects.

Sharing knowledge and raising interest in STEM is a big passion of mine, as well as helping the community grow. I've been a founding committee member of Immerse Australia and founded Level Her Up, a volunteer-run organisation of women game developers in WA dedicated to inspiring more women to try out game development through free workshops and game jams.

I've had the pleasure of speaking at a number of events, notably as the games industry representative at a WA state media press conference alongside Minister Templeman, and as the locknote speaker at DDD Perth 2021. Other speaking events include presentations for Australian Computer Society/Microsoft, SAE, FC2, CoderDojo WA, and The Design Kids.

Outside of my work, I am a big sci-fi and fantasy geek, lover of space and zombie apocalypses, and enjoy getting physical through things like boxing and gym.
