DESCRIPTION

FUSE is a digital twin developed in-house by Woodside Energy, using real world live and historical data to replicate the physical world into a digital form.

Users can remotely visit a site and see its live and historical state, monitor alarms and health thresholds, and initiate automated processes. This allows more efficient awareness and simulation of processes and data, visualisation of trends and root cause analysis, and can even enable remote operations via remotely controlled robots (including the Boston Dynamics SPOT robot and custom-built robots) and IoT devices to increase safety.

The site's visual fidelity was enabled using a combination of the site's real CAD models, photogrammetry, and live robotics scan data, all displayed in a visual 3D frontend. Web deployment enabled easy user access and live deployment of this software.

The software is a complex ecosystem of multiple layers, requiring multiple teams of developers tackling the data, the frontend, the backend, the physical IoT hardware and robotics, and on-site logistics.
